PRIVATE VIEW THURSDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 6PM-9PM
FOLLOWED BY CONCERT/NOISE ACTION AT BISTROTHEQUE 9- MIDNIGHT, 23-27 WADESON STREET, LONDON E2

A manifestation of sound art and noise-love in a multidisciplinary collaboration between international artists Bill Bowen, Matt Bua, Clive Murphy, Stephen O'Malley, Dylan Nyoukis, Chris Peck, Savage Pencil, Mr Pippin, Fritz Welch and Clare Quilty. The exhibition explores the potential use of sound, noise and music as tools for warping reality and shifting time. The first part of the exhibition consists of a collaborative sound/noise sculpture using distinct elements including computer-controlled speakers, automated percussion devices and composite junk imbedded into the site as an architectural intervention.
The second part of the exhibition consists of walldrawings, paintings, collages and posters dealing with music and noise as subject.  These elements surround the sculpture on the walls, both illustrating its conceptual focus and contextualizing its anarchic sprawl.

The private view on Thursday 1st September will be followed by a concert/sound action featuring Pleasure-Drenching Improvers, Dylan Nyoukis & Stefan Jaworzyn, The Nekid Kidmen and DJ Paul Noble at Bistrotheque, 23-27 Wadeson Street from 9pm to midnight.

Mudang Rouge

Tue 7/26
8pm
@ Tonic
107 Norfolk St, NYC
$8

psi / pee-ess-eye: Ungodly expressionistic masters of pure and sacrificial brain rot. This is the first psi show in NYC since November 2004 - will include surprises, including music made without the aid of electricity!

Oscillating Innards: Formed in 2001 in Redwood City CA, Oscillating Innard is a solo endeavor of Gordon Ashworth (Noisecop, ex-Peyote Calamity, Iatrogenesis Records). Live performances typically include powerful, abrasive blasts of acoustic/electric noise, thick droning ambience, and searing analog electronic textures.

Pedestrian Deposit: Pedestrian Deposit exists as an 'abrasive electronics' unit in California's Central San Joaquin Valley. Recordings are difficult to classify; one might be a meticulously crafted work, full of rising peaks, heavily layered breakdown sections, and dynamic editing; others might be pure wall-of-noise in the old-school 'industrial-noise' tradition. His performances are vicious, intense, and monolithic electronic compositions that effortlessly combine destruction with beauty.

Mudang Rouge: With Chuck Bettis (laptop & vox), Jerry Lim (kayagum, synth, guitar), & Evan Rapport (tambor & clarinet). Shamanic frequencies that swirl ones conciousness into the dream realm; accessing mental soundtracks that take you from this dimension to the next. www.plasticenigma.com/mudang

murmer
patrick mcginley (born 1975) is an american born musician and theatre artist who has lived and worked in europe since 1996. from august 1996 until september 1998 he lived in paris, where he studied theatre and began his sound experiments in the context of those studies. moving to london in november of 1998, he began a collection of found sounds and field recordings that would become the basis of all his work. soon after, he began creating compositions with the minimal technical set-up of an analogue 4-track and 3 guitar effects pedals. he has composed works for several theatre performances, including the works of his own company, as well as performing live soundworks for others. his work concentrates on the framing of sounds from our environment which normally pass through our ears unnoticed and unremarked, but which out of context become unrecognisable, alien and extraordinary: crackling charcoal, a squeaking escalator, a buzzing insect, or one’s own breath. more & current projects.

david daniell
david daniell is co-founder of antiopic, a new york record label focusing on experimental electronic and electroacoustic music. daniell has recorded and performed extensively as a member of san agustin (with releases on road cone, family vineyard and table of the elements) and under his own name. His debut solo album sem was released in 2002; upcoming releases for 2005 include a second solo album, an album of collaborations with jeph jerman, sean meehan and tim barnes (quakebasket), and an interpretation of earle brown's graphic score december 1952 (table of the elements).

"There's a Riot Goin' On" includes an acceptance speech from the newly-elected Co-Presidents of America. They congratulate each other on their victory, sharing inspirational slogans about war

Chris Fosyth / Nate Wooley Upstate Ramble:

The music of Chris Forsyth and Nate Wooley is built around abstract noise in epic space. Chris has been known for years for his work with psi, the reigning masters of complete silence. Nate has been working with everybody from Anthony Braxton to Tim Barnes. Together, their patience prods the listener to vacillate between differentiating the separate personalities of the players or experiencing the music as one composite sound. Their music also takes on a wide dynamic space that, though slow moving, is beyond the strictly ambient experience.

"Gone Nuts," the second episode of The Go Show, will air this weekend on BCAT in Brooklyn.

Saturday, March 19 at 11:59 pm, BCAT Channel 56/69

If you're out of town or do not have a television or cable, you can still enjoy The Go Show through live stream. Go to: www.brooklyn.org/bcat/default.asp

The Go Show brings together a variety show's ever-changing cast of characters and situations with a subversive re-envisioning of the conformity offered by mainstream American
culture. Its absurd and subtle humor imagines entertainment as a realm of sophisticated, open-ended possibility where French feminist philosophy is as much an influence as Monty Python. The Go Show is the result of a collaboration between New York City artists, Maria Dumlao, Jane Johnston, and Elaine Kaufmann.

Tune in!
