ROSEANNE SPRADLIN DANCE:
Blue Liz
live score by Chris Forsyth

Thu 10/23 thru Sat 10/25
@ The Kitchen
512 W. 19th St., NYC
8pm each night plus 10pm on Fri 10/24

Choreographer RoseAnne Spradlin's new work samples imagery, text, and sound from the 1960s to create a moody evocation of the war-time mindset and pop/minimalist aesthetic.  Working collaboratively with composer Chris Forsyth, who performs live throughout the work, Spradlin draws on the visual and sonic vocabularies of the decade’s political and cultural trends and events to explore a range of provocative contemporary sub-themes: the accumulation of meaning in stereotypical human movement; the marriage of the mechanical and sexual in pop art sensibility; our experiences and expressions of escapism and idealism; how women live in a man's world. Performers include Nathalie Green, Michael Helland, Colin Stillwell, Sandy Tillett, and Rebecca Wender.
